
UN Resident Coordinator
The UN Resident Coordinator (UNRC) is ultimately responsible and accountable for the overall coordination of development activities of the UN at the country level, including collaboration between the UN and national partners. As such, the UNRC provides leadership for an effective and coordinated UN system response on AIDS, and ensures Heads of Agencies’ accountability for each agency’s contribution to the Joint UN Programme of Support on AIDS.
UN Theme Group on HIV/AIDS
The UN Theme Group on HIV/AIDS (UNTG) is a forum to plan, manage and monitor a coordinated UN response on AIDS. Accountable for the UN system’s collective performance in support of the country’s national AIDS programme, the UNTG brings together Country Representatives/Directors of Cosponsors and other concerned UN agencies to ensure optimal joint action through the Joint UN Programme of Support on AIDS.

Joint UN Team on AIDS (UNJTA)
The purpose of the Joint UN Team on AIDS (UNJTA) is to promote coherent and effective UN action in support of an expanded national response to HIV. Made up of agency AIDS Focal Person, the UN JTA is responsible for the development, implementation, coordination and monitoring of the Joint UN Programme of Support on AIDS. The UN JTA also constitutes an entry point for national stakeholders to access technical assistance from the UN system.
